Singer and actress Suki Waterhouse recently shared a surprising health scare—one that might make you rethink your wardrobe choices.

On Monday, the 33-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal that she had been hospitalized after wearing pants that were too tight, leading to a hernia.

“‘Suki, you never tweet anymore’—have you ever considered I wore pants so tight six months ago it caused a hernia, and I’ve been too scared to tell you?” she joked in her post.

Alongside the message, Waterhouse posted a photo of herself in a hospital bed, hooked up to an IV with wired headphones in her ears—and what appeared to be a vape pen in hand. She also included a snapshot of the suspected culprit: a pair of tight black leather pants she had worn on stage.

Fans quickly reacted, with some playfully calling her out for vaping in the hospital.

“Vape in the hospital is diabolical,” one user commented. Waterhouse responded with a lighthearted “so true.”

Another fan shared, “Hey, I gave my dad a hernia once.” The Daisy Jones & The Six star humorously applauded them, replying, “Well done!!”

While Waterhouse didn’t specify the exact type of hernia she experienced, medical experts note that hiatal hernias—where part of the stomach pushes through the diaphragm—can sometimes be triggered by tight clothing or excessive pressure on the abdomen.

Aside from her unexpected health update, Waterhouse has another good reason for being less active online: She recently became a mom. She and fiancé Robert Pattinson welcomed their baby girl in March 2024, adding a joyful new chapter to their lives.
