The Backstreet Boys are set to redefine Las Vegas entertainment with their groundbreaking residency at the Sphere, and AJ McLean promises it will be an experience unlike any other.

In an exclusive interview with TooFab, McLean revealed that the high-tech production—kicking off July 11—will push the iconic venue to new heights. With 580,000 square feet of immersive LED visuals surrounding the stage, the show is designed to be a sensory overload in the best way possible.
“We’re doing things in this venue that have never been done before,” McLean said, hyping up the spectacle. “It’s not just a concert—it’s two shows happening at once. Between what we’re doing onstage and what’s happening on the screens, fans will need to see it more than once just to take it all in.”
The group has filmed custom visuals for multiple songs, with McLean teasing some “trippy” surprises. But even the Boys themselves won’t see the final product until the last minute. “The content won’t be finished until basically the day before opening night,” he admitted. “It’s nerve-wracking, but that’s how it goes with this place. Everything comes down to the wire.”
While he stayed tight-lipped on most details, McLean did confirm one major treat for fans: a full performance of their classic Millennium album. He also singled out the show’s intro and a revamped version of “Get Another Boyfriend” as standout moments.
Even his own daughters got a taste of the secrecy. “They caught me watching rehearsal clips on my phone and begged to see,” he laughed. “But I shut it down—they’ll have to experience it live like everyone else.”
As for the audience? McLean made it clear: come dressed to impress. When asked if he had any fashion demands for fans, he hinted that white outfits might be the move.
The Backstreet Boys’ Sphere residency runs from July 11 to August 24, 2025. Meanwhile, McLean’s new Netflix series, Building the Band, premieres July 9. One thing’s for sure—this summer, BSB is bringing the heat.
