The world of Bravo reality TV collided when Below Deck Down Under’s Captain Jason Chambers found himself at the center of a surprising claim from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay. Now, he’s finally addressing the rumors.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live, the charismatic Australian captain was put on the spot by host Andy Cohen. The big question: How did he feel hearing Heather Gay tell her co-stars on a recent RHOSLC episode that the two had previously “f–ked around”?

“Jason, number one question: How did you feel when you heard Heather on the show say that the two of you had… knocked knees?” Cohen asked.
Chambers, responding with a characteristic sly smile, initially played it coy. “We hung out in Sydney, as you know, down there for Bravo,” he said. “You’ve been to Sydney before for the Mardi Gras. What happens in Sydney stays in Sydney, you know?”
His cheeky deflection prompted fellow Below Deck star and WWHL guest Daisy Kelliher to joke that his answer basically confirmed the story was “true.” But Captain Jason quickly switched gears to set the record straight.
“No, it’s not true. … It’s not true,” he stated clearly.
He was quick, however, to compliment the RHOSLC group. “But what a friendship. Beautiful people. So, so funny and had such a good time hanging out with them,” he shared. “I’m glad that the friendship built to the point that they wanted to come on the boat for a charter.”

This whole situation stems from an October episode of RHOSLC that played out like a Bravo crossover special. Heather Gay and Whitney Rose organized a yacht charter in the Caribbean, explaining they knew Captain Jason from a past trip to Australia. From the moment they arrived, the Housewives were clearly captivated by the charming crew, especially Captain Jason.
While cast member Britani Bateman seemed particularly interested in the captain, it was Heather Gay who dropped the bombshell. After a day of drinking, she was seen playfully splashing in the water with Chambers, at one point exclaiming, “I’ll ride him like a f–king bronco!”
Later, in a conversation with a visibly surprised Bateman, Gay nonchalantly claimed, “But Jason and I are friends, we have a history, we’ve f–ked around before, there’s nothing there.” She clarified, “I’m saying we’re friends, so there’s latitude.”

In a subsequent confessional, a horrified Gay seemed to have no memory of making the bold statement. “I said that?! Serious faced?!” she exclaimed. “You can’t use that. I don’t know why I said that to her. Delete! Delete!”
While Chambers didn’t address the claim immediately after the episode aired, he did speak highly of the women to Us Magazine at the time, calling them “lovely, all of them.” He also humorously noted the challenge of managing the group’s famous drama, saying, “I’ve tried everything to try and break the ice… but I don’t think there’s anything we could have done to calm it down.” Now, with his WWHL appearance, the captain has made his final position clear: the rumor, while entertaining, is officially debunked.
