“You were my guy. The only one for me,” Linda posted online—just a week after sharing a throwback photo of the two with the caption, “Those good old days!”

The reaction came in an Instagram comment on that earlier post (made before the wrestling legend’s passing). “I had no clue he’d go this soon. We all figured he’d bounce back! Total shocker. We’re all heartbroken,” she wrote in her comment thread.

“It’s hitting me like a ton of bricks. I loved the Hulkster more than he ever loved me. The cheating stung, y’know? But he was so damn famous—I kinda got it, but it still crushed me. Hurt like hell,” she went on. “I never got over him, never even tried a real relationship with anyone else… I missed HIM. Been crying all day. The finality of it—it’s just nuts.”

“We were together 24/7 for years. I’ve known him since he was 28!” she added, making it clear she still cared for her ex.

Linda admitted she hadn’t “spoken to or seen him” lately, but kept up with his life through their son, Nick.

“Even with all the broken pieces, I still felt like we were family,” she ended. “It’s brutal knowing he’s just gone. Tried to stay strong for Nick, but I’m falling apart now. So sad. Love you, Hulkster. You were my guy. The only one. Rest easy.”

The pair were married from 1983 until their divorce finalized in July 2009. When they split, Linda accused him of cheating with one of their daughter’s closest friends.

“There were affairs. It terrified me—like, ‘Is this my fault? Is he moving on? Am I just a clueless housewife? Too heavy, too stupid?’ You start second-guessing everything, and it’s just tragic,” Linda told ABC News back in 2009.

ABC reported that Hulk copped to the affair but claimed his marriage to Linda was “already beyond repair.”

He later wed Jennifer McDaniel in 2010, splitting a year after. Most recently, Hogan grew his family by marrying girlfriend Sky Daily in a small Clearwater, Florida, ceremony in September 2023, per TMZ.

Earlier this year, Linda made a tearful admission about her rocky relationship with daughter Brooke.

“A recent video my mom posted got people sending it to me, and it’s got me needing to talk about the tip of a huge iceberg that’s my immediate family,” Brooke said in a long Instagram message. “What I’m saying here doesn’t even touch the surface of what I’ve dealt with my whole life.”

She emphasized she’d stepped back from the spotlight lately to “find peace,” noting, “I have my own family now, and this affects more than just me.”
